Fun with the Courts

Ward Christmas Party

This year our ward Christmas party was on the 15th of dec. I was asked to do the decorations for it on $0 dollar budget, Just get everyone in the wards decorations and put them up. I think not thats not really how I work so I starting thinking of what I could do with little money that I donated to the church. I was not going to be incharge of everyone's stuff and make sure it didn't get broken or lost. So I found these snowflakes at the dollar store and took fishing wire and strung the ceiling full of snowflakes, I know the picture doesn't do the gym justice but I thought it was a super festive hall. I got lots of good comments on my hard work, I ended up not getting a momnets time to sit the CHair lady had me running my tail off well she rested. Arghhhhh.... but what do you do? Thanks to Angela she seemed to keep me cooled down but let me tell you I slept super well that night and am extremely glad to have it over with. I fought super hard and lost the battle for Santa everyone seemed to have a great time anyway.

Vinyl Lettering

I have been introdued to the world of vinyl lettering, I know that winnipeg is far behind but I love them. This board is from my second batch. I don't like the Northcott I think it is to small but I'm giving it to James parents for Christmas so it doesn't really matter that the lettering is not my favorite right? There is a lady here in winnipeg who now has a machine so no more waiting for the letters in the mail. I found a couple sites with cute saying on them so I'll past them on to Eyrnn for me to do. I love hobbies!!!!

Up on Top

As I was emptying my pictures onto the computer, I found this picture that James must have taken. I thought it was super cute, I love seeing that my kids really do have a good time playing together even when I'm not at home. Just had to share.

The Christmas count down

Here we are at the beginning December and I'm starting to get into the hustle of the season, yesterday my daycare kids left early so I headed to the mall for a new haircut and color( I'll post later) it was CRAZY and everywhere everyone was exclaiming how they don't know what to buy for people. I just sat and relaxed getting my hair shampooed and loved it. Here are the advent calendars my kids and I made for Christmas. I talked to them after Halloween and told them that we could just eat all their candy or use some of it for an advent calendar to help us get ready for Santa. They did such a great job don't you think? We hot glued all the candy on pretty Christmas ribbon and Viola beauty before my eyes. Hope everyone is coping with their Christmas to do list. Tuesday is feed the missionaries, Wednesday is letter boards at the church as well as a cookie exchange, Thursday is my kids Christmas concert and Friday James is taking me to wine and dine without the wine to 529 Wellington( super classy restaurant) Now that we have our own company NO MORE CHRISTMAS PARTIES!!! and I miss them alot so this year I told he was to plan one. He invited a couple from the old DPMG so we'll see if they come. With or without them I am going out in style and I can`t wait. Then on Saturday is our primary party and for my parents for Christmas we are taking out the carpet in the den so she can have hard wood floors instead. That is all my mom wants for Christmas, easy enough I think!! ttfn

Some people shouldn't go to the Doctor!!!!!

With my arthritis, I have lots of specialist yeah for me right? Not always so. On Monday I got to close my daycare down and go and help with Spencer's pre-school. Highly enjoyable we had petland, they brought in 11 different pets, and told the kids about them let them touch ask questions. Very cute i loved every second of it. Then I got to go the See Dr. Robinson my ruematologist !!! Well first off I had to fight pretty hard to keep him, he closed down half his practice and yes I was moved to a new doctor. Now all of you who know me know that didn't fly with me so I got on the phone and in the end (a month of phone wars) got him back and I moved over to the health science centre. Me very happy until Monday when it finally hit me that he might not be happy that I fought so bad to get him back, me a little scared walking into the office where I was greeted with warm hearts from the nurse. Me trying to be as nice as can be how can I tell them I'm here without letting them know my name? Well I did have to tell her who I was with which response I got of yes I know who you are.Oh I say and quietly follow her to my little room. There I sit for about 15 min. before some strange doctor comes in. Hmmm he tells me he is doctor Marcus, me thinking Dr. Robinson has gotten rid of me again, so I smile and ask him, he informs me no he is the resident who will be giving me my exam!!! Me I didn't know there was going to be an exam. Dr Marcus just smiles and tell me it is routine. Oh Okay!! so we start. Now Im nervous because I hate exams so during the exam I blab. So as another side note there is a resident in our ward doing it on internal med. Which is what i am under so Dr. Marcus knows Arron. So here I am telling him about our religion because I had my special underpants on which he got to be introduced to how embarcing really? Im telling him how we don't drink and some how along the conversation i asked how many were married? He took it as how many wives he had I meant how many in the program were married just a big mess really is about what my day ended up being a very funny day but a mess none the less. We also talked football and how Winnipeg lost the grey cup so sad to bad. Then we talked about how I have a daycare and he said those poor kids!!! what does he means? At one point he told me I could keep talking and when he came back he would start nodding at me again!!! AHHHHH he wasn't even listening to me blab on and on. Poor guy seriously I was a mess. Then Dr. Robinson came and and decided that he was going give me a needle in both wrists and that should help the pain I was having. Well who just sits there and lets a man stick a needle right into the joint of the wrist. Ahhh not me I kept taking his hand away so Dr. Marcus had to hold my hand what a baby and I was a baby. then Dr. Robinson let Dr. Marcus do the second wrist so I ask him if he has ever done this before. He told me I was his first!!!!!!! What did they not just see what a baby I was the first time? so I let him can you tell, I liked him because I would have told him no other wise. So now both wrist are awkwardly sore but a little bit better then before there is a resident out there who thinks that Mormons do practise polygamy and that we wear special underpants which he saw and had to help me with since I CAN'T put my hand up the back of my shirt to pull it down. Plus I told him he had to remember me because I WAS HIS FIRST WRIST. Hmm make you wonder if really it is all worth it? well I'm not sure it was either. Maybe next time I'll be better. I don't think so either..........

SPENCER IS 4!!!!

Here we are at the end of Novemeber all ready can you believe it?
well on the 16th my Spencer turned four, he was so excited that he couldn't sleep and then we had to wait for daddy to come home from seminary before we could open his presents. He is by far my most excited child I've had all the rest sleep until I wake them up, so Spencer was even more excited then me and for all of you know me I LOVE BIRTHDAYS!!!
We took him to Montana's family traditon, then my family came over for cake and presents on friday night. On saturday we had ten screaming four year olds all running around for a birthday party. They love to play games and more games what a great age and really it was a great group of kids I can't complain. Then on saturday night we headed for our Santa parade down town. It was only -2 and the kids had a blast watching all the floats. Then at the forks they had fireworks @8pm. Janelle loved the balloon popping(fire works) the best and has asked everyday to go see them again. It's so much fun to watch the excitement of everything through their eyes. I LOVE IT, I LOVE CHRISTMAS. now I am all done my shopping so that does help I know but I love the hussale and bussale of the hoildays. TTFN

Whats New Scooby Doo?

well today is a happy blissful day, The only kids that are awake are my own.......Yahoo From reading books, playing Lego, farmyard and making homes for all the animals, and play doh time it's amazing to me that I can get anything done. I was looking on the Internet and found a new book that you can buy called To-Do-Lists. At first I thought how dumb who cares about to do lists. But then I started thinking of the thousand lists that run trough my mind everyday. I think my life is made up of lists and what needs to be done to what I want to with my life. So I researched this book a little further, and I must say I do enjoy it, It looks at how they make us who we are and what we can learn from them. Anyway not to carry on. So here I am the weather is plus 12 in Winnipeg that is unheard of this time of year, My kids are running around outside, my daycare kids are all sleeping and I'm enjoying my few minutes of freedom from my day to day life. I like to call it my recharging time, so I can face the next three hours before daycare is done for the day. What have I been up to really not a whole lot, I find that I'm in a stale state of life, James has applyed for a new job which he most likely won't get but it does have me kind of wondering what if? So now all the classes i wanted to take in January needs to wait alittle until we make sure what is happening. If for any reason he does get the job we'd be moving not only out of Winnipeg but out of Canada. can we say just a little bit scary. So I'll wait until the end of November and then we should know what is up. I can't see them helping us get into the states but if they like him enough who knows? also just something a little scary for me I ordered Dustin and Andrea's Christmas present off the Internet, I know people do this every day but for me it is quite out of the ordinary and I always wonder if I didn't make any mistakes. I got it from L.L.Bean and am super excited for it to arrive, I can't tell you what it is cause they some times check the blog and then there would go the surprise for them at Christmas. Anyway we all are doing good keeping busy and trying to stay out of trouble. It's Spencer's birthday on Friday and we are going to the Santa Claus parade on Saturday so I'll post some pictures this weekend of all our events, I'm going over to my girlfriends house to dip pretzels for the birthday party so that should be fun!!

Lastly Alina and Greg got their report cards they both are doing awesome and learning the french language really well. Greg is at the top of his class for dictee, and sight words which I guess comes when your the oldest in the class room, Way to go Greg we are so proud of you. Alina who if any of you have met her is extremely shy, however in kindergarten she is using french all the time and plays very well all the kids in her class, She might actually become a social butterfly that would shock the pants off her mom. But we are super proud the progress she has made since school started this year. Its fun to watch them grow into their own Little people.

Another one bites the dust.......

Well here we are with halloween behind us, and I am so glad..... If there was one holiday I could do with out this would be it although I do love all the kids dressing up and having a great time. This year I did up 60 bags of candy ran out and had to give out some of kids candy we had about 85 this year wchich is more then normal. The weather was actually nice enough that the kids didn't need their snow suits on under their costumes yeah for nice weather. Greg was ghost easy enough, he went out with his friends from school so one of the dads came and got him at 5:45 and didn't bring him home until close to 9:00 I was starting to get a little bit uneasy about him being out there without James or I. Alina was a fairy witch, Spencer a green skelaton and Janelle a princess cat. very cute I'll post pictures later. They went out with James and their friends from across the street. fun was had by all I handed out candy and kids brought home a haul. Since I can`t eat it this year I feel like all I see is candy everywhere. Let just say when your losing weight candy not helping!!!! My children are home today due to no school, and I would like to know when do they have school in the month of october to november they have had four days off and two half days come on go to school all ready and before I know it they will be home for two weeks at christmas. Everything happens to fast for me, I need some down time to catch up to life. James is my rock through it all when ever something comes up he is calm and collected. He holds it together and I come apart, this is why there is marriage so one can hold the other up when they are down problem in our house is it is always me who is down and needing the help up. Thanks to him i seem much better on the outside then meets the eye. Well now in two weeks we have our Spencer turning four I can`t believe that he is four but he sure is excited about it so I shall be aswell.
Anyway it is cool but very sunny out so I am off to send my daycare out side to enjoy the fresh air, we are on count down of 2.5 hours left in my day hurray.

The haunted house...............

well it didn't make it to Halloween but we sure had a blast making it together at the begining of october. Then on for family night just pass, our kids had their way with it. Way to much fun and they loved getting all black from the icing, because that is the best part after all isn't it?

Motherhood

At the end of day I sometimes find myself wondering if it is all worth it do my kids really get what Im trying to teach them, will they really be prepared for the world. Do I trust that I have done everything that I could for that day so that they have the self esteem they need to stand up for what is right. Do they know how important they are to me? Do they know I love them. Motherhood is so hard some times even though I love it.
Then this morning Spencer's pre-school teacher email me this clip from utube. This is how I feel on a daily basis and laugh outloud so now I'm sharing it with you all I hope you enjoy it.

Back to routine.......

Well my kids are back in school I took pictures of them but can't find the camera to post them. Greg is in grade two, Alina in morning kindergarten, and Spencer is in preschool three days a week. Just jelly belly is left at home with me and the daycare kids all day. Which I might add has made her nose a tad out of joint... She's driving me crazy with the yelling, hitting slamming of doors among some other habits that need to be broken. I do love the fall the crisp morning air and chaos that runs in my house every morning getting all the kids ready for their day and hoping James makes it home intime to meet the daycare drop off well I'm doing the running to and from the bus and school.
Today was ano exception except funny note when we told Janelle it was nap time she looked up at James and I and said NOT TODAY Hummm if she think that she's breaking nap time she is dead wrong. But I surveyed my kingdom this afternoon when all the little ones were sleeping and thought to myself this is a sweet life.

Here is the results of 60 pounds of peaches and 45 pounds of pears and James. Some husbands like to play on the computer, some like to golf, mine likes to can fruit? What is wrong with this picture? I went to a girls night over at Heather's house where we learned to cann. Well it was fun but the peaches weren't ripe so I brought a box home for James and I to do......he went out and brought home another two boxes and all the pears. So after two late nights a sticky floor and messy kitchen( men can not keep the kitchen clean and be in there cooking at the same time) we have food storage so all these lessons and talks about food storage I'm finally listening. When we were finished i decided that I didn't like how my pantry looked or how it stored my food so project here we go James had to move shelves around and put wood over all the wire shelves because who stores things on wire shelving? Well not me anymore yehh!! Thanks to a wonderful man who spoils me rotten.

The pocket door was nice so James and I didn't have to be quiet when the kids went to bed. The water park was so much fun and James was able to take the kids and I went SHOPPING with out any tag alongs. Sorry I don't have water slide pictures but there was three slides and a lazy river, along with the deep pool and kiddie pool and this hugh water spray area way to much fun.
