The hair cut

As everyone can kind of guess I hate pictures of myself, i know that I should just embrace what I look like but if there are pictures I don't need a Constance reminder of what I need to do to change. With that said I decided to get a hair cut before James and i leave for our little holiday on Thursday. So the hair dresser I like the best out of all my travels is back from maternity leave so I went the tried and true and this is the new cut I think its just fun so thought that I would share with the gals in blogger world the new me.

Alina Dawn

Here are a couple of pictures of our princess on her birthday. All she wanted was a guitar so she could rock and roll. The funny part of this is that I found this karaoke guitar it sings oops I did it again, survivor, she will be loved among some other titles. They all love to take turns being our super stars. And yes as you can see in the pictures Alina has had her turn with the moose hat. She was a little shy to stand on her chair all by herself so there I am with her.We did the big family party on saturday, it was beautiful outside so they got to play with the water and have a great time all the adults stayed in the shade. Its hard to believe that my time with her has gone by so quickly. She is such a sweet heart, she loves to help me out all the time and play little mother right behind me making sure everyone is doing what they are suppose to do. I always wanted a girly girl and she is through and through things that bring her happiness is to be singing or humming all throughout the day or dancing, she loves to dance. I think dance is about the only activity that she just lets herself be alive, she is very shy and timid but put her on a stage and have her dance and a new person is born before your eyes. Happy birthday my Sweet girl we are so glad to have you in our family.

Carrot Thief

Well my batteries in my camera are dead so I couldn`t take a picture so a short story will have to do........... So after all my day care kids had packed up and went home I thought real quick I'm going to pick the weeds out of my garden. So along I went with Janelle jabbering behind me, but me I`m in weed picking mode and didn`t stop to see what she was doing........ need I contuine....... so when Im done I finally look behind me to find Janelle`s fists full of my carrots, I jump and yell no Janelle not my carrots!! She looks up at me with tears streaming down her face and yells back BAD MOMMY. James laughed and said they did need to be thinned out, so I just sat there on the ground and cuddled my baby and told her I was sorry what else could I do!

Tried and tested.

O.K. I know I already put a post up today but as I was preparing for the act ivies of the week I found a couple that have worked really well and thought I'd pass them along.

1. take an old sheet or piece of fabric put it on your drive way take out the tempra paint and let your kids run all over it leaving their tracks. ( I'm doing this one tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes.)

2. rainbow hide I fund this in a magazine and changed it for my group of kids. It was rainbow tag which sounded just as fun. But I painted Popsicle sticks different colors and hid them all over the place some easy most hard and left a marker that matched the color. Then I gave all the kids a stone and sent them on the hunt to find them all once they found the stick they needed to color that color on their stone and leave the marker for the others to find. Once they colored their stone with all the colors they brought them to me and I had a bag of treasure for them to pick through. It took them about 45 mins to find them all and they loved it trying top be secretive so no one saw where they found the marker.

3.Picture pirates. Here I dressed them all up as pirates and sent them on a hunt for the diamond ring which was ring pops. I let picture clues so all the little kids knew where to look for the next clue. We turned the play structure into a pirate ship and they played for a long time being chased by sharks and looking for loot to steal. It was lots of fun.

4. this is my last one right now but I drew a skeleton of a t rex cut up all the bones on paper and hid them in the sand box. I left the neck all together and other small bones to make it easier and gave all the kids sticks which thy then had to shift and gently move the sand to find the bones we then taped it to the fence to see what it made. The kids loved this and ask to do all the time. I also hid eggs just little chocolate one for them to find as well they loved their eggs. I always make them take most of the candy home because I don't want the mess here and I don't need them any more giggly then they are.
I hope some of you can use these with your kids this summer I'm always on the look for ideas so I'll pass them along when I know that they work.

Closing the door of an event in our life.

So I woke up this morning got a phone call that two of my kids aren't coming because their mom is sick, ( which less is best) feed my kids breakfast and then turned on my computer to check in on everyone. Stopped off in my email and came to the shock of my life for five years my husband worked for this company called D.P.M.G. in which time we were treated great. Great wage, new cars, hugh bonuses through out the year, and best of all free trips for our family. It was the life. Then about 11/2 years ago James wasn't happy any more and not liking work so much, Promises weren't kept and Craig James boss wasn't so nice anymore said things that left us wondering what other opportunities were out there for us to try. So James started his own company(scary) and found another great contract company to work with and quit his job. The stress I went through not so great, but I thought I just need to trust James and what he wants to do. Which everything is going great. No we don't make the money we once did, no we don't get hugh presents and no family trips but James is again happy. His bussiness partner lives out in beautiful Montreal hence the thoughts of us going there someday. Who knows maybe I'll die here in winnipeg. Anyway nack to the email today. I get one from Craig the old boss who was a dear friend of mine. Anyway he has just announced the closing of the doors of D.P.M.G in Winnipeg. Goose bumps ran up and down my body as I read this and I was yet so greatful for my husband and his wisdom in our journey away from this company. We have many wonderful memories that I will always have but the greater lesson is that James and I are a team and we have so far stuck together through some tough dissions in our lives and how greatful I am that we are not now trying to get everything to fall into place for us. A very werid but great lesson for me to realize what I have in my life.

Summer Fun

Alas school is out for another summer. I wish I was telling you all the great plans we have..........but we have have no grand tales. Greg was sad to say goodby to his dear teacher, who I might add was born todo what he does, he was just amazing in every way possible. Tommorow makes the first day of a long summer shipping children in and out of my house, making sure they are all well taken care of. We are very busy with the day care and I'm hiring a kid across the street to help me out. Plus Greg is going to be a helper but I have to pay him too!!! /but now he will beable to buy all his own toys. Just as a side note we also decided to have a hugh Canada Day party after church we provided the hot dogs and watermelon and everyone else brought salads it was super yummy and fun to visit with friends.
