So this past weekend we headed up to the whiteshell. We went to a place called rainbow falls, it was very pretty but as you can tell manitoba does not have big waterfalls. The under current was pretty strong that day a girl got pulled when she jump off the top, it was a little scary but she was okey. We then headed to a beach for the rest of the day. There were leaches which Janelle would not leave alone. She kept picking them up yucky!!! It was a beautiful day and worth the trip out there. We love the whiteshell and hope to do a little camping there this summer as I have most fridays off from the daycare. We stopped for ice cream at a place called otterfalls. The ice cream was super yummy and as always enjoyed with the Court family there with us. I along with some of the kids walk away from the day trip with sun burns. and boy does it hurt. I'll remember to lather the sunscreen on earlier on in the day next time. Anyhow it always amazes me that we get so caught up in house renos that we miss perfect opporunities like this with our kids. Im glad we didn't miss this one.

Busy Busy Busy

James now has every Friday off for the summer, due to no seminary. HipHip Horray not that it was a hard calling for him, he loved it. So this past friday I had him dig me a new garden along the fence, we're getting the garden spot ready for a swimming pool which we should get next year. Anyway after he went to the dump with all the garbage and inbetween Greg getting shuffled between two friends going out for lunch and supper and a movie( I wish I had his life) I decided that James should start building a new play structure for the kids in the back yard. Our yard is really shallow but it is really wide, so lots of room to put everything I want out there. Well we are making tuesday with the structure still not finished we still have the cargo net and sand box left to put in. But the kids can play on the rest of it today!! Yahoo We did have some hiccups along the way saturday we took the kids up to the hospital to visit grandma and sunday was fathers day and church which took us back to monday and full days of work. So my dear brother came over and helped last night for family night. Tonight is soccer for Greg so we'll see if James can get it done after the kids go to bed. It shocks me how busy our lives get when our kids start to have lives. I wonder what will be instore for us as they get older. At church I got to teach all the youth over 14 and I loved it. We talked about the ten virgins and talents that the saviour gave. I love the discusion we had and reminders of what I need to be doing to prepare myself and family for the second coming. I have talents and need to share them, we talked about hidden talents tha twe can have of listening hearing bearing our testimonies, being kind to everyone. The list goes on and on but I was shocked that the youth didn't know that those were talents. It's intersting to me when you ask them what their talents are they have a hard time coming up with one. I found that the youth with less of a self esteem had the hard time coming up with a talent, and my youth who come from strong families and a good strong self esteem had a much easier time coming up with things to add. It helps me to see the type of family I want, the type of home I want for my kids to have so they can be who they want to be and explore their talents and develop them. I tell the youth how much I love them but I am not their family and I wish they could have strong homes..... alll of them.

What could I do?

This year marks the third of soccer in our house with both Greg(super star) and Spencer(lost in space) well our coach for Spencer is awsome and James got to be the assitant which has been good for him. Greg's coach on the other hand has been the worse coach he has had since he started. We are coming to the end and he didn't think to get the medals for the kids? Where is his head not in soccer and thats for sure. So I being me decided to take over the medal shopping....... argh it is hard to find nice medals and cheap. So after much effort I found a place all awardscanada they are everywhere and if you need medals check them out they are fantastic and I didn't think the price was to bad either. Well I found medals for 4.20 each great right, Well I went to Spencers game and found out that the medals they bought for him are 9.00 each where did that come from, So I called the lady who's getting them and pleaded my case.............. I lost so what could I do I paid the price and walked away. I walked away, can anyone believe it?
The pictures when we get them is an other story but next year watch out soccer world because I am coming prepared!!!

Janelle's birthday

Here are a couple pictures of the party we had with the daycare kids and then our family tradition of going to Montana's for supper. It's a hoot to have the kids wear the horns and they all look forward to it. Janelle had to use the chair to help keep it on her head as you can see they were a little bit big on her..........

What a weekend....

This past weekend was our womens conferance, which Sheri Dew and Wendy Nelson came and talked to us. It was a much needed spiritual recharge that I heeded. I find that some times I have too much on the brain and becuse of it I don't seem to be going anywhere. Well they talked about everything that I needed. I really liked the part that some times we need to just back up and then keep going. Sometimes when I'm in the middle of making a mistake it hard to see the big picture I love the thought of stopping and backing up seeing what I need to see, make the changes and then keep going. They brought home many simple things to me,
On sunday I got phone call after church that I need to go to the hospital because they were coming to visit my mom, no one was able to contact her and give her a heads up. What an amazing way to spend the afternoon and get tot visit them. Not just hear them but have a conversion and have them ask me questions. I realize that the visit was for my mom so I tried to sit in the corner and leave it for her to carry on the conversation. They had us all in tears, with the whole experince. Beside the fact that they made my mom feel like a million dollars, again so grateful for the spiritual weekend that I got to be a part of, the Lord really knows what we need and I think I just got it slapped in the face. I guess we all need help sometimes to get out the whirwind of our lifes and let the Lord back in his rightful spot.

Look who's two

Today marks a big day in our house as my baby turns two. I can't believe how fast the time has gone, I remember wishing she would stop breast feeding and sleep through the night. Now as I look at her she is so big...... She was the perfect addition to our family and everyone loves her so much. I love her sweet spirit, her energy and excitment that dances in her eyes as she talks. She is my peace on weary days and light that gets me through. For a hard pregancy and birth she was the best gift I could have gotten. For Alina the only thing I ever prayed for was that she would have a sister, since I never had one. The friendship that is growing between them is sweet, with the occassional bitter fight. I hope that they can always be close as only sisters can and be there for each other. Happy Birthday baby girl I love you soooo much, Im so glad I was entrusted to be your mother.

Alina's Party

As everyone know I like to make as much work for myself as I can, so on the 2 of june we held Alina's first birthday party with friends from school. She decided that she wanted a knight and princess theme so off I went to sew costumes for that attended. It was a little bit of work but I thought that everything turned out great, even the dragon cake which was a must. I also home made he pinata but I have no pictures, alas. The weather was agreable and it even got hot enough that we had to turn on the sprinkers for the kids to run and cool off in. they were a great group of kids and Alina was a true princess. she is very shy and I was a little worried what she would do when everyone came over but she was a true hostess. I was so proud of her,she truly had a blast and that made all the my hard work worth how she felt at the end of the day. As a side not the little princess doesn't turn 5 until July 20. I guess this is what happens when pre-school ends May 30th!!!
