Here we are at Alina Dress rehersal it was after spending the day at the farm so we both were super tired, but she shines when put up on stage. She is one of the few girls who knows the whole dance so she ehlps the others along. I was so proud of her. The bottom picture is her super friend across the street. She is a year younger but only by about five months. They are very close and love to play with each other all the time. It's fun to have her at dance aswell. Beside the fact that they look so cute in their costumes.

Farm Day

Here we are at Alina's farm day, the weather stayed dry until we came home which was a bonus. We got to see pigs, cows alina milked a goat, we saw a sheep get sheared, baby kittens baby chicks just hatched the day before. Here are a couple of the sights we took in, it was a great day for the farm, not to hot so the smells were down. One little girl got goat milk sprayed on her face and all the kids thought that was great. She didn't mind either. It's great to see kids interact with animals, they know so much about them.

Fairy Houses

Here are my creations of what I thought a fairy house would look like. I made them with my daycare kids who LOVED it. How fun is it to wait for fairies to come to our house and stay in the house built for them. Every little girls dream made with just a milk jug and buttons. Can life be any better? I think not. It took us two days to put on all the buttons but it enertained for two days, can my life be any easier?

We have eight birthday parties between Greg and Alina, with a party for Alina since her birthday is in the middle of summer and all her friends will be gone. Janelle turns two on the 7th of June and it leaves me a little sad that I'm coming to the end of baby years in my house. I held my friend's baby at church today and there is something special about holding a little tresure, I just loved it. I hope you all have a great week

Pictures By Ruth

We went to my girlfriends house on Saturday and she took 180 pictures of my kids. It was so fun to have someone that my kids feel comfortable with taking the pictures. She has captured them the way I see them all the time. I think this is a really hard thing to do since even I have a hard time doing it. She just talked to them and snapped pictures the whole time. It was hard to find a piture to post because they are all so good. Janelle has never had pro pictures of herself so this is so nice for me to be able to show her off. I think that Ruth is just a natural at what she does, thanks for great friends who do amazing things for us, where would we be in the world with out them. I can wait to get a bunch these developed and put up in my house. That is another great thing digital cameras there is no way we would have so many to pick though if not for the wonderful world of technology, I have asked James for a digital slr camera he keeps telling me I don't, and not saying I don't love the camera I have but after picture day at Ruths I want one more then ever. I want to take a photo class so I can get good at it. What fun it would be to let our imaginations take flight and see where we would end up, and what we would have in the end.

Random thought.......

I have myself wondering as of late how far do we go with sport intrest and our kids. Or dance as my Alina is a wonderful dancer. Greg and alina both have a love of things that are very time comsuming and are affected on sundays. James and I are trying our best to be willing parents of our kids pursuing dreams they have right now, but as they are both getting older we need to decide what and how far we are willing to go with these dreams. The church needs to always be the priority and I feel that we are doing a good job but then I think what is a good job? What can I be doing better, where do we need to make changes in our lives to be better. Alina's dance cost a small fortune and is getting bigger and bigger every year. Next year she will be doing both tapp and ballet, Greg is our super star. There isn't really anything that he is not good at. He practices every sport every day after school and with older kids on our street they all show him different tricks to help him be better. He is really good at soccer with the head butts of the ball to fancy foot work in and out of the other players feet, I am a proud mom. Beside the fact that I don't know where he gets it from because James and I like to play but we're not good at it. I just don't want to look at our life in a couple of years and wonder how I let things get out of control. I know I don't make a whole of sense but I just to get this out of head so I can think. I want my kids to excel at what they want but at what cost?

Funny quotes.

Yesterday marks my day of insane!!!! I had 11 children here all day yes 11 you read right. My brother went to the temple so I took his three girls plus my four daycare kids and mine. amazing no one got hurt and we all had a great day playing, doing plays for them to act out and making crafts.
As a thankyou Andrea gave me a cook book, in it there are quotes and here a couple of my favorites so for all you mothers here you go

The law of heredity is that all undesirable traits come from the other parent. Unknown

Ah children. A woman knows all about her children. she knows about dentist appointments and soccer games and romances and best friends and favourite foods and secret fears and hopes and dreams. A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

"It is amazing how quickly the kids learn to drive a car, yet are unable to understand the lawnmover, snowblower or vacuum cleaner." unknown

Mother's Day

Well I can say that this year marks the best Mother's Day that I have had. James and the kids really had fun with the day and making me feel special. First on Saturday afternoon I went for a hair cut, my favorite hair dresser just got back from her mat leave and I was so happy. it really makes a difference to have someone who knows your hair cut it. have no fear I will still go out every so often to find other great hair dressers for all my friends. After my hair cut we took our kids to the southdale fair. Gregory has been begging to go, for 25.00 you can ride all the rides you want.......but with a family of four kids that would have been 100.00 for a couple hours of fun so we spent 50.00 on tickets and let the kids only ride a couple ride each and play a couple of games. We had so much fun, I ran into a couple of girl friends there and did some visiting well our kids ran and played hard. On Sunday James made sticky buns for breakfast and I got Alina ready for her dance pictures, then we went to church, and all my youth gave me hugs and wished me a happy mothers day, our ward gives out chocolate to the mothers and the young men all fought over who would give me mine so I got three boxes thrown at me to see who's box I would pick, Yes i gave back the other two boxes for other moms to get theirs. At home the kids had cards and presents galore for me to open. I had bought myself a new purse and gave it to James to give to me and Spencer informed me he picked it out. Ohh how lucky am I!!!!! James thought that he should buy me a shower radio? does he know me? what would I do with that? Good try honey. I love my new purse and told him I would give him brownie points for it instead. My mom and dad came over for supper and the kids loved showering grandma with special love on this special day so I think she had a wonderful time too. Yes this year has been the best MOTHER'S DAY I have ever had..

Prophet Spence

Spencer is obsessed with the prophets of our church. His favorite one is Spencer W Kimbell knowen to our spence as Spencer D Kimball. Well we called him for supper and he yelled back call me by my prophet name. HUMMM I wonder what the neighbours think? James and I died laughing our heads off.

Tiled backsplash

Well today I have a full daycare, James is gone to put in a new phone system for a client, And I am hiding out upstairs checking out blogs. I feel like I never have a chance to do this anymore. Over the weekend our family headed to the snake dens with the Court family. It was rainy and kind of a blah day but nothing was going to wreck seeing all those snakes............. Well we did see snakes a whole nine of them maybe. Greg had them wrapped around his shoulders and even Janelle had to hold them, not for me. I did take pictures and a great time Alina wants to go back so she can touch one, spence dosen't care if we ever go back. I think if i would have let him Greg would have brought one home for a pet. Anyway it was a blast!
So on saturday night I decided to tile the back splash in my kitchen, let just say it was so easy and turned out beautiful, well on tuesday afternoon I had to grout it well maybe I should read the directions because I chemicaled burned five fingers on both hands. Ouch James has had to change diapers and get kids dressed because my fingers hurt so bad, so much for a girl who thinks she can do all by herself!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ace Burpee

Well I have been waking up to the Ace Burpee show on the radio for the past couple of weeks and he is very refreshing. This morning he was talking about the provincial election, and how a growing concern is keeping the young people here in Manitoba. His thoughts on the matter were how we need to concerned about keeping all age people here in Manitoba. I agree, not just because I am like many want to leave. But it made me think of the reasons I want to go.

1 The mosquito's I can't stand them and they are everywhere.
2 The long cold winters, however my kids love them
3 the church is pretty small here, but so far this summer we have three families moving into Island Lakes alone. Great for me since this my home.
4 For some reason I have join the band wagon that the grass is greener on the other side. Do I really believe this statement? I'm just not so sure.

Now there are many great things here, the beaches are wonderful, cabin country is beautiful and there are many different places to choose from. It is pretty cheap to live here and you can have a whole lot of house for your buck. I love the area of the city that I'm in I have lots of friends and so do my kids. My family is here and I think my parents need me. I don't know people do go through a lot just to leave and there are many great things here. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I just need to be happy where I'm planted and let the lord take care of the rest. If we move to Montreal or stay here is up the Lord although it is hard to just put my life in his hands I understand that is what I need to do. Sorry for the blubbering but Ace Burpee really made me think about Manitoba a little bit different and I'm glad he did.
